Stop the Healthcare market place from labeling the ID cards of Texans

Created by S.K. on November 07, 2015

Stop the Healthcare market place from labeling the ID cards of Texans who buy insurance through them. Repeal Texas State Senate House Bill 1514, which is a HIPPA violation and an invasion of consumers privacy. Texas Governor Abbott signed this bill into law on 6-7-2015 and it went into effect 9-1-2015. Originally there were to be two QHB codes put on insurance cards. QHB-S would identify persons who received a government subsidy to help with the cost and QHB would be those who were paying their premiums out of pocket. The S was dropped, so all cards will have the same ID, allowing physicians to deny care to anyone getting insurance from the market place. My husband is self employed, and we pay $2000 per month for insurance. This bill will allow us to be denied medical care.
