The slaughter of unwanted horses in the US is painful, unnecessary and cruel. The meat it yields is shipped overseas and most often contains harmful medications rendering the meat inedible. Many other horses have to endure the long and arduous trip to Mexico and Canada without food or water before they are met with their untimely deaths. The solution to these issues is the humane euthanizing and disposal at moderate cost by owners.
