Human trafficking is a problem happening in our own back yards In 2003 the New York times Identified Chicago as a national hub for human trafficking.
According to Illinois department of human services, “16,000 to 25,000 women and girls are victim to commercial sexual exploitation in Chicago every year.” As of March this year a prostitution ring was broken up by Waukegan police.Testimony from Gabriella who was taken from Colombia to the U.S. and then forced into prostitution. For five long years, she lived as the property of her traffickers. Fortunately for Gabriella, Immigration Customs Enforcement Agents caught her trafficker and saved her.Human trafficking is a vile and unforgivable act that is happening here in our own back yard and can be reduced with more border & port security
