STOP Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking) from ruining Minnesota's natural resources as well as the scenic state!

Created by T.B. on November 15, 2012

Minnesota is undergoing the threat of Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking). Fracking is a technique used to mine petroleum and natural gas from underground rock formations. A high pressure mixture of water, sand and chemicals are pumped underneath the surface to release the gas trapped there. Some of the mixture remains underground to prop open the fracture however, a lot of the material returns to the surface. This poses the risk of contaminating ground water, air quality and could cause seismic events, including earthquakes. Toxic chemicals, including methane and carcinogenic chemicals, will be contaminated into the water making people at risk: Fracking is the wrong road forward for Minnesota, and America. We cannot live in growing gas lands which put people at risk. Ban fracking NOW!
