Stop Immigrants on Visas From Competing Against America in the Olympics

Created by J.Y. on August 24, 2013

The Olympics are a time when the athletes of each nation of the world come together to compete, demonstrating varying abilities in athletic strength. This petition identifies an unaddressed issue: Immigrant athletes on school or work visas who train in the US, but compete for their country of origin. Why should immigrants (in college or professional sports) be allowed to train in our great facilities, under the supervision of our great coaches, and compete for their country of origin in the Olympics? Essentially we are creating our own competition, and providing a 'free gift' for other nations; taking the credit for our hard work. This petition seeks to ban such an allowance, requiring immigrants on visas to sign a pledge preventing them from competing in the Olympics while in the US
