Daily the U.S. is faced with challenging issues concerning illegal immigration but the most problematic of them all is immigration fraud by marriage. U.S. Colleges and Universities have to do more for both undergraduate and graduate students being targeted by foreign nationals for citizenship through fake marriages. In many cases, these fake marriages end with more than a broken heart but with false statements of spousal abuse, in order to stay in the U.S. For example, through VAWA (Violence against Women Act), false statements of abuse can be made against an American spouse without their knowledge, thus, leading to citizenship.
