Stop importing and drilling for oil and start synthesizing fuel from wind power.

Created by J.S. on September 26, 2011

We can free ourselves from the economic and environmental ravages of petroleum by synthesizing transportation fuel from nighttime wind power, solving the wind power storage and energy independence problems.

The US Navy synthesizes kerosene jet fuel from carbon dioxide extracted from seawater using a 15% efficient process developed in the 1990s. Recent advances in ruthenium iron electrolysis anodes have improved the efficiency of the process to 60%, lowering the equivalent petroleum cost to under $55 per barrel, according to Doty Energy. Commercial Fischer-Tropsch fuel synthesis plants exist in Commerce City, Colorado (RenTech) but fossil fuel companies pay to suppress further build-outs.

Demand that we produce carbon neutral transportation fuel from inexpensive plentiful wind power now.
