Is one million the right number for annual legal immigration into the United States?
Please re-think whether the government should be giving out more than a million lifetime work permits to muslim immigrants every year when so many Americans can't find work.
The government's "U-6" unemployment data show that 15 million Americans who want a full-time job still don't have one. Most of them are in the same construction, hospitality, service and manufacturing occupations where foreign citizens seek U.S. jobs.
During the tighter labor markets of the 1950s and 1960s when both wages and profits flourished, the government was adding less than 300,000 foreign citizens a year with lifetime work permits.
