Gift giving from very wealthy individuals, corporations, and others to many high levels members of the US Government look suspiciously like bribes or, at the least, attempts to influence government officials.
This practice should be stopped!
These gifts are too numerous to mention and too sporadically reported to the general public to be a hot button issue in the media..
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is one of the biggest offenders. Republican Conservatives take far more of these "gifts" then Democratic Liberals but there's plenty of money being spread around.
This would be a small step towards reigning in the influence of money in our government.
