The Texas section of the TransCanada XL Pipeline is being pushed through against the wishes of the people whose land it is destroying. The companies run roughshod with huge machines, destroy croplands, vineyards, springs, and old growth forest. TransCanada and Enbridge Corp pipelines already in operation have had over 35 spills in 2 yrs. proving that these pipelines leak regularly. Foreign multinational corporations don’t care what happens from the huge disruption of land & water & climate change caused by mining & piping toxic tar sands. No new jobs will be created--only 100 or so for maintenance. The product, piped under great pressure & heat will be shipped to China thru a tax free port. Why are we allowing this desertification of a swath across the land for no real profit for USA?
