The US Constitution gives us the right to life, so doesn't a justice system that kills its citizens seem kind of contradictory? Executing a person will only make the cycle of deaths continue. People should repent for their mistakes, rather than dying. So, if a criminal would spent his entire life repenting for what he did, or get out of it easily by being killed and not show any remorse, I believe the former option is the better choice.
