Handicap parking should be reserved for the truly disabled. Being overweight should not be an excuse to park closer to a facility. If anything prohibiting overweight individuals to have access to closer parking spaces is better for their health because they would be forced to walk a bit further. Isn't that what the Obama administration want to see, a more healthy and active country? Personally I believe if an individual requires assistance to walk and get around, or is missing a limb, or has a life threatening illness or respiratory complications then they should only be considered to obtain handicapped privileges.
