One of the largest fresh water aquifer in the world is the Ogallala Aquifer Proponents of the Keystone Pipeline want to build part of the pipeline in Nebraska over this aquifer. We need to stop this and save one of the most vital fresh water resources in the United States. Despite their promises, there is no way Trans Canada can guarantee that it won't leak and cause an environmental catastrophe. Especially since their track record of safety and stopping leaks from happening is not great. The safety of an aquifer that brings fresh water to millions of people is on the line. This is even more important now that the senate now has enough votes to pass the Keystone Pipeline Approval Bill.
