Stop Keystone XL. Save the environment, save the air, save our water.

Created by M.P. on March 22, 2013

This extension of the Keystone Pipeline needs to be stopped. The petroleum from tar sands creates 12% more greenhouse gas emissions than normal petroleum. A leak would ruin water and air sources for humans, birds, and other surrounding wildlife. There's even a portion of the pipeline that crosses a seismic zone. Although it has been claimed that extra precautions have been taken for this particular area, how are the absolutely positive? Is it worth taking the risk like we did with Exxon and BP? We have a chance to do some good here, to save lives and to save our Earth. We only have one, and when we frack the mountains, pump petroleum across the country, and have entirely too frequent oil spills, you can't expect it to last very long.
