To stop landlords across America from using credit reports as a tool for new tenant screening. It's discrimination!

Created by D.M. on May 18, 2013

Landlords across the country are using people's credit reports as a means for screening out bad tenants. It's a discriminating practice. It puts a stigma on poor people of all races. Credit reports should be deemed private, and no one's business. Credit reporting agencies goes through all sorts of means to collect information on an individual, and in most cases the information gathered is either misrepresented or untrue. People including the disabled, unfortunately gets denied an apartment due to a bad credit report. No matter if a person is disabled, for example, and the credit report is bad, they're denied the apartment. No matter if you can afford the amount of rent the landlord is asking, and your credit report is poor, then, it's assumed you'll be a problem in the future.
