Stop Layoffs at National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Created by A.H. on November 20, 2015

Last month the Washington Post covered laboratory layoffs of solar energy researchers. This was followed by a call for people to take voluntary separation packages and, this week, executives with Alliance for Sustainable Energy quietly went ahead with additional layoffs of many long-term staffers vital to support of our national program for energy independence and technological innovation. It should be noted that the Alliance, tasked with laboratory management, consists of executives subject to bonuses for such "cost cutting" and receiving individual salaries nearing $1 million. While their actions may benefit their own bottom line, they go against the interests of taxpayers, the nation as a whole, and the employees dedicated to this noble cause. We demand this injustice be undone.
