Stop letting ANY court decide if trial-by-jury is allowed or not, just because of the offense; judges must allow juries.

The District of Columbia is charging Mark Witaschek with possession of a spent shotgun cartridge. As his being charged with this "crime" is really a violation of the 2nd Amendment, he requested a trial-by-jury. Because the original charge of "possession of unregistered ammunition" was changed to "attempted possession" of the same, current D.C. rules made the trial jury-ineligible.

My fellow Americans, if we can request a jury for a traffic ticket, we ought to be able to request one for ANY offense, even this one, per the 7th Amend. Especially when a citizen was charged with breaking an illegal law that clearly the prosecutor is simply just trying to maneuver around. Hold govt accountable!
