The post office is one of our most successful government services, running inexpensive, quality, and constitutionally-mandated service to even our most remote areas, and not using a single cent from taxpayers. No other company does this: FedEx, UPS, etc. are more expensive and often refuse to service rural locations.
But Congress keeps sabotaging the post office by mandating funding pension requirements that go far beyond even reasonable employee protections, and no other public or private company or service requires, turning a service that would be running a surplus into being deep in debt. It then refuses to let them enact other measures to deal with the frivolous burdens.
We thus petition to remove all unnecessary regulations on the post office and stop letting Congress sabotage it
