Stop letting the National Rifle Association bully Congress and "rank" lawmakers' loyalty to them.

Created by F.R. on December 18, 2012

I believe this organization is has too much power in matters that are supposed to be decided "for the people, by the people". The National Rifle Association threatens to withdraw its support of any elected official who votes in a manner deemed unfavorable to them. Their system of ranking lawmakers' loyalty to them is ludicrous and outright appalling. For further proof of this, please look at the presentation and subsequent defeat of the Disclose Act of 2010. It also has a history of recruiting lawmakers to insert pro-gun amendements into bills completely unrelated to firearm policy. Although that happens with other bills, combined with its loyalty ranking and scare tactics, I believe the NRA has become too influential on public policy.
