The SOPA bill appeared in 2013 as well as 2014. Those of us who are opposed to it won the 2013 vote for it to not be passed, but when it resurfaced in 2014, we realized we had less than 2 weeks to inform people it had resurfaced and we had to vote on it immediately.
This petition is in place to prevent this bill from resurfacing ever again, assuming the 2014 vote is passed and SOPA is once again prevented.
SOPA stands for Stop Online Piracy Acts. It would put a stop to fan-made products for popular movies, games, stories, etc. I'd encourage people to research the SOPA bill to have a better understanding of why this bill needs to stop reappearing.
