Stop the lifetime benefits packages given to elected officials after they have served their term in office.

Our country is in deep debt. Congress has had little to no luck in solutions to help curb the debt and resorts to political party politics in lieu of what is best for the country. The elected positions have become positions of power and money, and politicians to date are being paid for little to no work on the key issues affecting the economy of the American people. Most higher paid officials in the business sector would be let go without further compensation for their lack of progress in the workplace. Yet, our Congressmen and women continue to be paid even when they no longer serve the people. There is no other job in the country that continues to pay employees once their job is finished. Congress should be no different. Thus we ask that lifetime payments to elected officials cease.
