It has become the practice of housing authorities all over the country to go after Poor families or individual whom damage their stats (ie permanently Disabled) precisely the people whom the program was designed to help, instead of helping these people transition from HCVP into homeownership, In my county the local HA uses a local attorney to sue these Poor people for Fraud but before they get to this point an employee of the lawyer oversee the appeals process hearing,finding always for the HA, their Boss the lawyer then Sues the Poor Family/ Person on behalf of the HA and HUD, which results in not only their inability to remain in the program but also to pay, and the HA gets to keep a portion of the proceeds which are Garnished or offset from their Disability benefits.
