Stop the loss of fish from the destruction of oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Created by T.S. on February 12, 2013

The federal mandate removal of oil and gas rigs in the Gulf of Mexico is killing tens of thousands of fish let alone their habitat. One of the main fish being destroyed has a federal restriction on them from over fishing in the past, how is okay for the government allow them to be killed by the thousands? I would like to petition the President to find away to take the rigs down without detroying the habitat of so many species and without killing so many fish. Many people along the Gulf Coast make a living by fishing and if they are depleted by this type of removal then what are they to do. The Gulf does not have a natural reef system, so I petition the government to remove what is necessary in a peaceful manner and leave what is needed to provide a habitat.
