We the people humbly request that government officials stop lying.
From police officers lying about probable cause, to the drug Czar claiming that marijuana is causing ER visits, to campaign pledges about closing Guantanamo, to secret torture programs, and including fabricated justifications for war; The American people have had enough of this government's lies and misrepresentations.
Politicians and government officials constantly lie to the people. When a simple straight answer does not benefit the administration, a legion of PR professionals and spokesmen are unleashed to spin the facts.
Yet if the citizen chooses to misrepresent his personal finances or health care choices to a government agency such as the IRS, he is branded as a criminal.
Stop lying. Is it too much to ask?
