Stop making budget cuts in federal programs that go to low-income students.

Created by T.W. on September 24, 2015

Federal programs for low-income students help families all over America. Without the help from these programs low-income students wouldn't be able to go to college. I specifically want to talk about the Pell Grant because it is being targeted by budget cuts for its tremendous costs. In the past few years, Republican spending proposals have attempted to lower the maximum award and the number of students receiving it. The federal grant program provides more than $31.5 billion in tuition assistance to more than 8.6 million low-income students each year. Taking this away from us is not right.
