Stop making threats to stop social security benefits if the debt ceiling isnt raised. Instead, stop pay for government.

We the people, in order to protect the rights and securities promised to those who receive Social Security and had/have worked for the security promised by such programs, impose on the government the threat to hold any pay promised to them for offices held over the people until or unless the debt crisis that has the government threatening to hold or stop Social Security benefits is dealt with to the satisfaction of the people these government officers are sworn to serve.
