Stop making veterans pay for awards!

Created by J.M. on August 09, 2015

Military heroes are routinely awarded medals at military ceremonies. The ceremony is photographed, with the honored veteran holding the award. But this is only a photo op. The veteran is required to purchase ribbons representing their award to display on their uniform, and then additionally required to purchase their medal if they wish to have it. A soldier wounded on the battlefield--representing the ultimate sacrifice for our country--should not be charged for this medal.
