I don't not believe that federal government should be able to mandate electric log books and speed limiters in Commercial Motor Vehicles. Myself being in the livestock hauling industry I cannot control traffic backups and bad road conditions. I will not allow a computer to tell me to stop if I cannot reach my destination in the time allowed by the Hours of Service regulations. Further more I will not stop if my arrival time home is 2 to 3 hours past the HOS regulations. I run a paper log and enjoy a relatively easy day and more home time than I would with an electric log. I plan my trip every day the best I can, but sometimes unforseen circumstances mess them up and I need my paper log to change a few things to continue to do my job the best I can. All above applies to speed limiters
