The fact that it costs more than a penny to make a penny since 2006 is really irritating. The amount of money the government would save if they would just drop the penny will really add up. It's not hard round all prices to the nearest 5¢.
This year, the government will throw away $4 Million due to the manufacturing of pennies.
A year or so ago, Canada dropped the penny and rounded everything to the nearest 5¢. Nothing about inflation changed.
As long as taxes are at numbers ending in 0 or 5. We will be alright.
Economically, pennies are absolutely useless and they need to go.
