As a country based on freedom we can't continue to put everyone in prison for extended periods because they don't conform. We need to break the cycle, educate, rehabilitate. Help these people become self sufficient by helping them out of the only world most of them know. Our neighborhoods aren't any safer now than they were before we decided to put the so called "undesirables" in prison. The money we spend on incarceration would be better spent to help them become productive citizens. There is no correction in our correctional institutions only loved ones wasting away.
