The heinous murders at Sandy Hook Elementary are just another in a long line of mass slayings where the killer becomes famous or infamous as the case may be for murdering many. News organizations have a right to report on the events but there's no necessary added benefit to the story by showing the murderer's picture or his name. While we don't know what his motivations were yet, so many of them seem to want fame, any kind of fame. In their addled state they will kill to get it. If in the future these killers become anonymous then perhaps one less incentive for these pointless killings will be removed. This does not impede free speech because all other facts about the case could be discussed.
