Once again, an American community has been devastated by a mass shooting. On Sunday June 12, 2016, 50 innocent people were shot and killed at an Orlando gay nightclub, and more than 50 injured.
In the wake of this tragedy, we need to let the people of Orlando, Florida know that the country stands with them during this horrific time.
The U.S Government needs to prohibited automatic and semiautomatic assault rifles, stiffen up licensing and ownership rules, and institute a temporary gun buyback program to take assault weapons out of public circulation.
