To stop media outlets from interviewing victims of traumatic events for 48 hours after the even has taken place.

Created by M.R. on December 15, 2012

After a traumatic event has taken course, the media has no right to interview or walk up to a victim or their families for 48 hours; unless the victims themselves go to the media to share their story.

This petition does not mean that media outlets cannot write whatever they would like to say about the story. It just gives a small window in time for the victim to come to grips with what has happened.

The person(s) that have been through a traumatic event should have the right not to be harassed by news outlets in their time of distress.
