We the people should be able to expect that our Reps and Sens speak on equal terms about an issue. Debates should address the fundamentals behind issues and not factual uncertainties. Reps cite they have support from their constituents to be for or against a position when that support is based upon low confidence facts or discredited facts.
In order to better serve the people, Congress should:
1 Centrally present facts (and sources) for all bills
2 Categorize facts by confidence level
3 Establish (for each bill) a Dem and a Repub moderator in control of:
the addition of fact sources
categorizing, using a Likert scale, level of agreement with facts
naming Reps using partial facts or discredited facts in a misleading way
4 Add clarity to the debate rather than confusion
