Stop the Michigan Abortion Opt Out Act, passed on 12/12/12 that forces abortion coverage to be elective on insurance.

Created by H.A. on December 12, 2013

On 12/12/12 the Michigan legislature passed a bill that requires abortion coverage, as well as coverage for "D & C" procedures (not necessary used for abortions) to be purchased as a separate rider, instead of being allowed to be a part of a health insurance plans. Our republican governor vetoed a similar law, but the Right to Life organization was able to find 300,000 signatures under false pretenses which gave the Legislator the right to enact the law without popular vote and without the ability of veto by the Governor. This law does not represent the majority belief of Michigan citizens. Please help us, at least get this to a popular vote and stop the Michigan Legislature from putting up barriers for women to get healthcare.
