We demand that Congress address the trend toward increased militarization of our country's police.
We demand that Congress investigate the use of force against civilians by police and the lack of oversight and reasonable checks/balances that continue to erode our 4th amendment rights
Therefore, we demand:
1. An end to federal subsidies and funding that are used to purchase military arms and tactical vehicles for local police departments.
2. The creation of a national database that monitors and records the use of force by local police departments and federal agents against citizens including the execution of "no-knock warrants", citizen fatalities caused by police, citizen injuries attributed to police action, police shootings, use of non-lethal force including tazers, etc.
