The increasing militarization of the local police departments is a clear and present danger to the people. The increasing use of "less than lethal" weapons as offensive tactics poses an immediate threat to all citizens and is counter to the first and fourth amendment rights of all. Ban the use of pepper spray and all other chemical weapons for offensive use, ban the use of sound cannon and other area denial weapons and re establish the first amendment rights of the people to assemble and petition their government.
