This petition is in favor of supporting the “Stop Militarizing Law Enforcement Act of 2014” AND BEYOND to ensure the lives and liberties of all Americans. We demand the following:
1. Pass the “Stop Militarizing Law Enforcement Act of 2014” and subsequent provisions within the bill, including, but not limited to: Prevent transfers of equipment inappropriate for local policing, End incentives to use equipment in circumstances when the use is unnecessary, Require that recipients certify that they can account for all equipment.
2. Unconstitutional for officers of the law to kill unarmed citizens and civilians. Indictment and prosecution of officers that choke hold, shoot, or use any sort of lethal force against unarmed civilians.
