Pennies and nickels cost more to produce than they are worth. All pennies and nickels would still be legal tender, but no new pennies or nickels would enter circulation. All transactions done by coins would be rounded to the nearest dime. Several studies have already shown eliminating pennies would not have any affect on charitable donations.
