Stop minting the penny and nickel.

Created by T.V. on June 17, 2013

The cost to make a penny is 2.4 cents and the cost to make a nickel is 11.4 cents in 2011. How often do you see a penny on the ground, if it was worth the effort to pick it up and hold on to it until it is spent wouldn't people use pennies. Can someone go into a store and buy anything with 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 pennies. Would the average American go into a store with 500 pennies then have a cashier count all 500 pennies wasting other customers time just to buy something worth $5. This also applies to the nickel. Does the average American keep 40 nickels in their wallet just to buy something worth $2. If you're thinking, "just use a cheaper metal," that won't solve the problem that most people won't use them.
