The NCAA and it's members continuously profit by using likenesses and selling merchandise of individual athletes. Yet, the NCAA forbids athletes from profiting from their own likeness etc. The organization generates millions if not billions of dollars from the sales of merchandise and other items containing likenesses of individual athletes. If the NCAA sees fit to suspend athletes for using their own likeness, the NCAA itself should not be allowed to profit from these as well. If the NCAA can profit from its individual athletes, the NCAA should owe a percentage of these profits to those individuals. The athletes make the NCAA. The NCAA does not make the athlete.
