The internet should not be treated as a public utility opened up to new taxation on providers and consumers. The United States has long been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to the internet, but the idea of net neutrality threatens to strangle the internet. The proposed reclassification would apply 1930's-era telecommunications regulations to the internet. The United States should continue to classify the internet as an information service with multiple stake-holders. The country doesn't need another innovation-stifling regulation.
