Stop the New York Mets Baseball Club from continuing to use the phrase "True New Yorker(s)" to describe their fanbase.

Created by P.F. on April 30, 2014

Trying to educate the nation that the New York Metropolitan (Mets) Baseball Club do not own the right to call their fanbase "True New Yorker(s)." This concept of a "True New Yorker(s)" that the Mets ballclub and/or fanbase is trying to advance is a farce. Based on history, the team was created in 1962 and has played second fiddle to the New York Yankees Baseball Club throughout its existence. As a Yankee fan, I've heard this throughout my lifetime and have laughed at its incredulity. Also, as a first generation New Yorker, born/raised/educated in the Bronx - I'd like to call myself a True New Yorker, without any connection to the New York Mets.
