Stop observing Daylight Saving Time in the US

Created by D.B. on July 28, 2015

Daylight saving time was started in Germany in 1916 to help with coal shortages and was soon established in the US in 1919 once we entered World War I to help cut fuel use. After the war we reverted back to one time and didn't observe daylight saving time again until World War II. There have been many studies to show its usefulness but at the same time there are studies to show the opposite. Out of 196 countries in the world only 70 observe daylight savings time. Even in the US, Arizona, Hawaii, and the overseas territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands do not observe it. Let's just pick one time and stick to it.
