To stop offsetting income tax refunds for unpaid student loans during these hard economic times.

Created by S.H. on January 15, 2013

During these hard economic times many people have fallen on financial hardships causing them to fall behind on many bills including student loans. This causes the student to default. When this happens you can try to make payment arrangements with the Department of Education or the Collection Agency they have turned the debt over to. However, those agencies always want extremely high monthly payments that are near impossible during these economic times. People hope to get ahead at tax time by using their refund to catch up on bills that keep a roof over their head and heat in their homes. We need to stop offsetting income tax refunds for student loans until this country is in a better economic state. Lets help those struggling families and say Stop to Tax Offsets for 2 years!
