Offshore drilling is something that will ruin our wildlife. Off the coast of North Carolina, industries are looking to drill for natural gas. They're not sure that there is any gas, and in order to find out whether there is, seismic testing has to be done. The incredibly loud noises are detrimental to ocean life. By scaring the wildlife away, and by causing brain and hearing damage, death and injury will occur to countless ocean animals. There is no doubt that there will repercussions causing harm to the fishing industry. Our island relies on the fishing industry to function. Likely spills could occur, and toxins could leak into the air and water. The only people who are pro-offshore drilling are the people who will be making money off of it. The locals here are so against it.
