Stop oral cancer. Ban the import and sale of betel nut (areca nut) containing products intended for use in foods.

Created by W.K. on April 08, 2015

Betel nut (Areca nut) containing products are commonly imported into the U.S., from Asian and Oceanic countries and used in various food products, chews and commercially made products (Paan Masala). The product generates a characteristic reddish saliva. Products containing betel nut are addictive and have been linked to submucosal fibrosis and oral cancers. The products are becoming increasingly popular on college campuses. Let's put an end to importing this product by creating an FDA Import ban of betel nuts (Areca nut) and all Areca nut containing products.
