The US patent office allows people and businesses the ability to patent certain genes that is linked to, causes or is necessary to research cancer. This causes huge issues in for those trying to find cures to certain kinds of cancers. Because they are considered property, people wanting to research them must first pay the holder of the patent money to do something that would benefit all mankind. This severely limits research that is being done in order to rid of us the modern plague.

I see this more than just unethical and despicable but a crime against humanity. Profiting off the struggles of others does not seem right to me and hopefully others.
