to stop pay on all Congress members and staff and all Exec. members and staff if and when a government shutdown occurs

Created by D.A. on September 30, 2013

I believe that the 27th Amendment should be repealed. The amendment reads "No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened."

This means that no matter what happens to the government, whether it is shutdown or otherwise, Congress still gets paid while those of the military do not.

I believe that if Congress decides to shut down they should do so at the peril of not only the members losing pay but also all of their staff, also.

This would give them great incentive to quit with the back and forth and also force the President to think about not negotiating any bill because now Congress will not be paid.

Pay the troops and not those responsible for the shutdown!!
