stop paying billions of dollars worth of subsidies to big oil

The Federal Government gives billions of dollars to the big oil companies to keep prices lower for Americans, but we still end up paying up to $4 a gallon in some areas and rising. Oil is due to run out within the next century so we should make our move sooner than later to switch over to other forms of energy. The Great Plains have sometimes been called the Saudi Arabia of wind energy. Solar energy also has many benefits. We should concentrate on becoming energy independent by developing clean forms of energy. We do not need natural gas, clean coal, nuclear and hydro/water as they are too costly and do not solve our problems. States rich in resources such as Texas, Alaska, and the rust belt will say otherwise because of potential earnings, but we need to do whats best for future Americans
